OPI You’re Such A Budapest, HK$80 from Pretty Lil Nails
Finally have some time to do my nails after a brief nail polish hiatus! Today I have on OPI’s You’re Such a Budapest from the Euro Central collection, and I decided to add a layer of Gosh Rainbow, a holographic flakie, for mattifying. (There’s actually another sponged-on layer of OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons in between if you can tell.)
I was never a huge fan of nail wraps, but always interested to find out how nail wraps from different brands last compared to a regular mani. This time, I tried out the NCLA designer nail wraps in Gemstone.
NCLA nail wraps are known for their endless collaborations with designers each season, making the hottest designer prints easily accessible at your fingertips. Application was fairly easy– just pick the size that fits your nail, peel it off and stick onto your nail. Any excess is to be filed off, just like any other nail wrap.
I’ve introduced the day tonight technique quite some time ago, but those who aren’t familiar, it’s done by applying thick coats of 2 colors side by side, then blending them in the middle by using a toothpick. Totally doable for a beginner and also has a different effect when using different color combinations!
For this version of the galaxy nails, I started off with a deep purple base using OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? and randomly sponged off a bunch of blues, pinks, yellows and holos. There’s really no right way to create this effect and I can’t put this in a tutorial, all I can say is get inspired and experiment it your own way!
