Earlier this year there was shocking news revealing that most of the unwanted clothing we place in our local textile recycling bins were actually sent to the dumps. Most people in Hong Kong love following fashion trends and with fast fashion being popular than ever, it is common to find that many of us have unworn or gently worn clothing left untouched in our wardrobe.
The Changing Closet was founded by Susan, designer of perfume necklace brand Ms. Chic, with the idea of restyling pre-loved clothing and giving them new life by matching them to new owners. Each time The Changing Closet will be organized by a different team, and for December’s second installment of The Changing Closet, the team will include Fion, founder of online fashion platform ABACI, Taki, founder and hair stylist of MW17, and myself.
This time round, The Changing Closet adds in a “mix and match” session, a new concept which makes it different from the first installment. Besides trying on the outfits and matching them with accessories from Ms. Chic and ABACI, I will also be giving personal nail art tips on the day of the event. There will also be professional hair stylist and photographer on the scene to snap your “before and after” looks, giving you a true head-to-toe makeover experience!
Part of the proceeds from The Changing Closet will be donated to charity, so you will be giving back to the community while shopping for new pieces for your closet! Be sure to add this date to your calendar!
