Korean cosmetics lovers had a new affordable beauty go-to brand in Hong Kong since the beginning of 2012 with the opening of The Saem (pronounced as “the sem”).

The Saem’s first store opened in South Korea in 2010 and has since expanded to over 10 stores worldwide. The third store in Hong Kong will be unveiled in the brand new Hysan Place in Causeway Bay this August.

Besides their best selling Black Pearl Bubble Oxygen Mask & various other skincare products, The Saem also offers a range of make-up products including eyeliners, lipsticks, and nail polish.

The Ardent Lady Collagen Shell Lipstick has a layer of collagen shell wrapped around the lipstick, gliding on smoothly and giving your lips a healthy shine and luster.

The formula is smooth and creamy, easily applied and shiny. It has quite a strong scent of “lipstick”, which I’m guessing is from the collagen shell.

The Ardent Lady New York Power Gel Waterproof Liner is a waterproof gel eyeliner in pencil form, which makes it super easy to use yet still waterproof because of its gel nature. It has a slight shimmer to it and is pretty pigmented, perfect for a smokey eye look.

The eyeliner glides on smoothly and the color stays on well, but due to its gel texture it gets blunt easily and needs constant sharpening. Not a bad eyeliner for everyday use though, I would say that it’s truly waterproof, oil proof and long lasting.
